Cannon River Rendezvous Cooking Competition 2019
Cooking Competition (Sunday 4 pm, food items must be submitted by 3:45)--
This competition will be similar to what we have done in years past. Food should be cooked on site using historically appropriate methods. Points will be awarded on authenticity of ingredients and cooking style, taste, and presentation Entrants must submit one serving of their entry to be split between three judges, and do not need to include the entire cooking vessel. A list of ingredients must be included, although the actual recipe need not be revealed unless entering the historic recipe category. A list of time and place appropriate ingredients is posted below, however, providing your own documentation of historical credibility is encouraged for all categories. Prizes will be awarded at the camp meeting.

Prizes will be given for the categories of:
- Baking (in dutch oven, coals, reflector oven, clay oven, etc.)
- Cooking (includes grilling, roasting, spits or any form of cooking excluding baking)
- Historic Recipe-- all entries submitted in this category should be based on a recipe published prior to 1840. A copy of the recipe with the relevant publication information must be included to enter in this category. In addition, these recipes are eligible to be entered into whichever of the other categories is applicable (Baking, or Cooking), and thus could possibly win two categories.
