Cannon River Rendezvous - Public/Guest Information
Fur Trade Era Re-Enactment
Listen to music and dance the old time dances.
See history come alive with fun for the entire family! Visit us at our re-enactment site, located about 10 minutes west of Cannon Falls.
Experience a fur trade encampment typical of the period from 1750 - 1840 and visit with re-enactors portraying the many unique characters that gathered after a winter of trapping to trade goods, test their skills and swap tall tales with their friends.
Enjoy demonstrations of period skills and lifestyles, including black powder shooting competitions, primitive archery and tomahawk-throwing contests, and campfire cooking. Stop and talk to any of our demonstrators and participants to find out about the various crafts and skills of this fascinating time period. The public is invited to try their hand at many of these activities, including shooting. Visit the merchants on "Traders’ Row”. Smell the aroma of food cooking. Hear the sounds of laughter and singing, music of the time, and children playing games as they did in the day.
Join us on Monday for a Memorial Day service honoring those who have fallen serving our country and honoring those rendezvous friends who have gone before us.
