Cannon River Rendezvous - Participant Information

Join us over Memorial Weekend for the Twin Cities Muzzle Loaders annual Cannon River Rendezvous. The site is located just west of Cannon Falls, (Map) in a secluded, primitive area that fits the idea of a Pre-1840's Site. The sound of the fiddle in this secluded glen along the river for the traditional Memorial Day gathering is something you'll not want to miss. We look forward to seeing you there....

Rendezvous Dates and Times:
  • This year's Rendezvous will run from May 23rd through May 27th, 2019
  • Primitive set-up will be Thursday 8 am to 9 pm, Friday before 9 am / after 4 pm, and Saturday morning before 9 am.  See registration flier for more details.
  • No setup before Thursday without Bourgeois approval.  No setup without registration and check in.
  • Modern and short term setup: Thursday - Saturday.  No Modern or short term camping in the West Meadow.  See flier, or contact Bourgeois John Schermeister @ 763-535-6615 or Segundo Jim Strupp @ 651-308-2781 for more details.
  • Open to public visitation, 10 am-4 pm Friday - Sunday; Monday, 10 am - 3pm.
  •  Memorial Service on Monday, at 1 pm.
  • Saturday evening Steak or Chicken Dinner.  See flier for details.
  • No tear down in Primitive before 3pm Monday.
  • Primitive campers are allowed 1 hour to unload and remove their vehicles from camp.
  • Primitive camps are to be period correct after setup.
  • For setup during the Rendezvous, campers may cart or pack into the primitive camps, or set up in short term or modern camp areas.
 
Contests of skills in:
  • Shooting Competitions
    • Shooting shall be of a pre-1840 style gun, open sights and patched round ball.
  • Archery Competition
  • Primitive Cooking Contest
  • Hawk & Knife Competitions
  • ​Flint and Steel Contest

  • Kid’s Games and Candy Cannon
  • Demonstrations -- contact the Bourgeois if you are willing to demo.

2019 Registration
  • Camp fee is $50.00
  • First lodge, 2 adults, children under 18 included in camp fee
  • Additional adults ($5 each)
  • Additional lodge (in registered camp, $15 each)
  • Registration at the gate or mailed in after May 1st is an additional $5
  • Pre-registrations are encouraged and must contain check.
  • Mailed registrations must be postmarked by May 1st and received by May 10th.  After that, on site registrations only will be accepted.
